The city Changua

Even with a title like that, Changhua should be on your list if you have more time to spare during your trip to Taiwan. Why? Because the city does not have a wide selection of new attractions such as Tainan and Lugang. However, there are some areas of attractiveness of the city and some specialties worth trying.

Other spellings: Chang-hua, Chang Hua, Zhanghua

The first thing to do (even before arriving in Changhua) is to book accommodation. See where I reserve all my hotels in Taiwan!

They probably stopped here to go to the nearby historic city of Lugang. From the train station, walking distance to most attractions and restaurants available on this page.

The Temple of Confucius – rot?

Temple of Confucius

The Changhua Confucius Temple was built in 1726 and is one of the oldest in Taiwan. It is located in central Stockholm and is surrounded by modern shops and 7 students. It ‘a very photogenic.

The last time I was there in October 2008. Day I went, there was nobody to worry about this great historic building. The site was completely deserted.

The place was very dusty and tablets were crushed in the halls. I went to the tourist office to see what was happening and they told me. “As the KMT is in power, we have no money to pay people to preserve the temple”

Mt Bagua and the statue of Great Buddha

Great Buddha Statue

You’ve probably seen images of this iconic 92m high statue of travel books before. It is one of the most recognizable monuments on the island.

The Buddha sits on a large lotus flower on the bottom 22 meters high Baguashan or eight trigram Mountain. The statue is hollow, and you can actually get to see the colorful dioramas illustrating the life of Buddha.

Behind the statue, you will find massive Big Buddha Temple. The third floor is a popular spot to watch the sunset over the city.

If you like walking, the head is Baguashan scenic area where the roads, pavilions, cafes and even a former military aircraft that can be mounted in on a clear day you can see up here Taichung.

Climbing in Changhua University

Changhua is artificial wall

If you have your own harness, shoes, rope and quick draws (at least 10 of them) is the place to be on a sunny day! The wall is about 15 meters high and has 12 bolts solid lines.

If you do not have your own partner, not … I repeat: NOT join the Taiwanese climbers there unless you have suicidal tendencies!

Over the years I’ve seen worse, never climbing practices, such as a very dangerous technique Insurers, top roping from a sling (yes!!), 5 feet of slack rope when the climber is a mid … and the list goes on ……. onnnnnn

The Wall is based on National Changhua Normal University. You can ride for free here. No light at night. You represent a large box, so you want to have a carpet of his rope. Find it on my Google map.

Other attractions in the city …

If you take a look at my map to see Changhua, there are dozens of temples around the city. Walking through the streets a little ‘to find them very interesting.

Yuancing Temple (built in 1763) is one of the most important places of worship, and Taiwan, but the fire devastated, not long ago and not much to see at this time.

Hong Mao (red hair) Well, it was built by the Dutch over 300 years ago and is a popular place for tourists to Taiwan. Unless you have been fascinated by water wells, pumping, or hear, you can skip this site.

Cat and mouse noodles meatballs

Changhua meatballs are hot! And for the unconditional love of Taiwanese food, they are the main reason to visit this part of the island. Two good places I’ve tried is on the corner of Changan and Chen Ling Road.

Cat Mouse Noodles are also proud local residents. And I seriously do not understand why. Really, apart from an original name, this soup does not have much to be excited. The broth is bland and the noodles are … well … plain white noodles!

Spend a night at the Rico Royal Hotel

I know what you think … You are looking for this image and you’re like, “nothing is real too rich or ugly about this building.”

Welcome to Taiwan, home to wrong names! Cat Mouse noodle … (What do you mean no cat meat?)

It is not smoother, more intelligent or roof most elegant of the city, but it is a good value (less than NT $ 1000) and its proximity to the train station makes it a convenient place for the accident.
